Glanbia Nutritionals Breaks New Food Safety Ground with MicroSure™ Plus

FITCHBURG, WISCONSIN, USA – Glanbia Nutritionals has developed a new proprietary heat treatment process, MicroSure™ Plus, to meet the needs of the rapidly changing food safety environment. The intense process reduces the total plate count substantially more than any other heat treatment currently available.

With food safety a key issue for food manufacturers and consumers alike, the MicroSure Plus process achieves the lowest possible level of aerobic plate counts in Glanbia Nutritionals' flaxseed range without compromising the product's quality, nutritional value or shelf-life. The new treatment process has been developed specifically for Glanbia Nutritionals' flaxseed range, which includes BevGrad, SelectGrad and ChoiceGrad.

BevGrad is an exceptionally fine and smooth flaxseed ingredient. Its small particle size allows manufacturers to fortify with ALA Omega-3 in a wider range of applications, without the graininess or textural issues that may have presented problems in the past. Ideal for dairy, sports nutrition or weight management beverages as well as smoothies, peanut spreads and granola bars, BevGrad confers the nutritional benefits of ALA Omega-3, fiber, protein and lignans.
