The Benefits of PepForm Technology + Amino Acids

Amino acids are delivered on a whey or peptide backbone, making them soluble. Free forms of amino acids are typically very insoluble and bitter. PepForm Technology eliminates these challenges and enhances application use and bioavailability.

  • Binds free-form amino acids to peptides.
  • Significantly improves the solubility and utilisation of amino acids.
  • Improves flavour and odour.

Small Peptides Are Absorbed More Readily Than Free Amino Acids

Peptides are more readily absorbed and have shown 70-80% higher absorption of amino acids compared to free form amino acids.1,2

Both single amino acids and small peptides are absorbed across the gut lumen.3

  • Small peptides (di, tri and small chains) have two methods of transport.
    • Peptides can be easily transported in their intact form by the intestinal mucosal cells.
    • Di and tripeptides require a chaperone to complete transport.
    • Small peptide chains require no chaperone to complete transport.
  • Single amino acids have only one method of transport and require a chaperone.
    • Single amino acids compete and can reach a maximum saturation point slowing down the rate of transport and digestion.
