National Grilled Cheese Month

In honor of National Grilled Cheese Month, we'd like to share our favorite grilled cheese recipes using Glanbia's rich, creamy Havarti. It is the perfect ingredient for the perfect grilled cheese. Our Havarti is produced at our Blackfoot, Idaho facility and is ready for your enjoyment. Bon Appetit!

Rock Mustard, Honey Cinnamon Pear & Glanbia Nutritionals Havarti Grilled Cheese

Ingredients

  • 4 Slices Sourdough Bread 
  • 2 Tablespoons Butter, Divided 
  • 4-5 Ounces (about 4-5 large Slices) Glanbia Nutritionals Havarti Cheese 
  • 1 Medium Sweet Pear
  • 2 Tablespoons Honey 
  • 1 Tablespoon Cinnamon 
  • 2 Teaspoons Rock Mustard (or Dijon) 

Directions

  1. Slice pear in thin, small slices.
  2. In a microwave safe bowl, place pear slices, honey and cinnamon and stir together to make sure each pear is coated with honey and cinnamon. 
  3. Place pear mixture in microwave for about 30 seconds or until pears are softened. 
  4. Heat large skillet or griddle over medium-low heat (about 325°F) and place two of the slices of bread, each butter side down.
  5. Place Glanbia Nutritionals Havarti cheese slices on bread.
  6. On other slice of bread (on dry side) spread rock or Dijon mustard generously.
  7. Place pears onto the bread, laying over mustard spread and drizzle honey/cinnamon on top.
  8. Place second slice of bread on top with butter side up.
  9. Cook 4-5 minutes, or until outside of bread is a rich, golden brown.
  10. Carefully flip the sandwich over and begin browning the other side, leaving on heat for about 4-5 minutes or until the outside of the bread is a rich, golden brown.
  11. Remove from heat.

Cut sandwiches in half, serve, and enjoy! 

Cinnamon Sugar & Glanbia Nutritionals Havarti Griller

Ingredients

  • 4 Slices Cinnamon Chip or Cinnamon Bread
  • 2 Tablespoons Butter, Divided
  • 4-5 Ounces (about 4-5 large slices) Glanbia Nutritionals Havarti Cheese
  • 2 Tablespoons Cinnamon Sugar Mix

Directions

  1. Butter the outsides of the bread. 
  2. Heat large skillet or griddle over medium-low heat (about 325°F) and place two of the slices of bread, each butter side down. 
  3. Place Glanbia Nutritionals Havarti cheese slices on bread. 
  4. Sprinkle cinnamon sugar mix on top of Glanbia Nutritionals Havarti slices. 
  5. Place second slice of bread on top with butter side up.
  6. Cook 4-5 minutes, or until outside of bread is a rich, golden brown.
  7. Carefully flip the sandwich over and begin browning the other side, leaving on heat for about 4-5 minutes or until the outside of the bread is a rich, golden brown.
  8. Remove from heat and sprinkle a bit of the cinnamon sugar mix on the top of the sandwich.

Cut sandwiches in half, serve, and enjoy! 

Pesto, Artichoke & Glanbia Nutritionals Havarti Grilled Cheese

Ingredients

  • 4 Slices Whole Wheat Bread 
  • 2 Tablespoons Butter, Divided 
  • 4 Tablespoons Pesto 
  • 4-5 Ounces (about 4-5 large Slices) Glanbia Nutritionals Havarti Cheese 
  • ⅔ Cup Marinated Artichoke Hearts from Can 
  • Sriracha (If you like to add a little spice!) 

Directions

  1. Butter the outsides of the bread. 
  2. Heat large skillet or griddle over medium-low heat (about 325°F) and place two of the slices of bread, each butter side down.
  3. Place Glanbia Nutritionals Havarti cheese slices on bread. 
  4. On other slice of bread (on dry side) generously spread pesto and place artichoke hearts evenly. 
  5. Apply Sriracha sauce on top (optional). 
  6. Place second slice of bread on top with butter side up.
  7. Cook 4-5 minutes, or until outside of bread is a rich, golden brown.
  8. Carefully flip the sandwich over and begin browning the other side, leaving on heat for about 4-5 minutes or until the outside of the bread is a rich, golden brown.
  9. Remove from heat. 

Cut sandwiches in half, serve, and enjoy!
