Meet Our Presenter & Panel

Sonja Matthews
Senior Manager Strategic Insights- EMEA & ASPAC, Glanbia Nutritionals

Sonja has over 15 years’ experience in the consumer goods space and brings a unique consumer perspective to the insights team. Sonja holds a BSc from TU Dublin, a Masters in International Marketing Practice and a Diploma in Strategic Growth, both from UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School. She was previously the Head of Insights and Category Marketing for EMEA for Sports Nutrition and Ready-to-Consume portfolios at Glanbia Performance Nutrition. Prior to joining Glanbia, Sonja worked in the UK & Ireland with organisations such as Bord Bia and Heineken across various business development, customer marketing & category management roles. Sonja is responsible for insights and analytics in EMEA and Asia Pacific regions and the insights strategy for Sports Nutrition, Supplements, and Early Life Nutrition.

Bernadette Grant  
Senior Strategic Product Manager, Glanbia Nutritionals

Bernadette has over 20 years’ experience in the food industry across European and Emerging markets. She has a BSc in Food Business from University College Cork (UCC) and went on to achieve a Graduate Diploma in Management Practice, as well as a Graduateship in Marketing from The Marketing Institute and a diploma in Digital Marketing. Previously, Bernadette led the innovation strategy for the health portfolio of cereal products at Kellogg’s, creating a five-year pipeline of food innovations for global brands such as Special K, and was responsible for the launch of new to market brands such as W.K. Kellogg. At Glanbia Nutritionals, she is responsible for driving growth of the snacking portfolio in the region, including customer facing support, new business development, management of the innovation pipeline, and the forward-looking strategy. Bernadette is also a Non-Executive Director of the charity Aware.

Dr. Orla M. Power
Research and Development Applications Specialist, Glanbia Nutritionals

Orla completed her B.A in Medicinal Chemistry at Trinity College Dublin and holds PhD in Dairy Chemistry awarded at University College Cork. In her previous roles, Orla worked in research specializing dairy chemistry, infant formula and protein ingredient formulation. At Glanbia Nutritionals, Orla is responsible for the formulation and development of innovative high protein foods, beverages and ingredients. She has expertise in the functional behavior of both plant and dairy proteins in food / beverage systems, producing products that have both excellent textures and nutritional profiles.
